This is a description of fifty-nine churches in Paris classified by the French Ministry of Culture as national historic monuments.
They are listed by Arrondissement.
In the 17th century the church became a center of the Jansenism movement, which called for greater simplicity and a minimum of decoration, which is reflected in the austere interior.
It contains the tombs of the astronomer Giovanni Domenico Cassini (1625-1712), the he first to discover the moons of Saturn and to measure accurately actual size of France.
