In many non-English speaking countries a term cognate with hippodrome (e.g., Estonian: hipodroom, German: Hippodrom, Italian: ippodromo, etc.).
There are also a number of separate harness racing tracks.
Other racetracks exist in Recife (PE), Pelotas (RS), Goiânia, (GO), Sao Vicente (SP), and Campos dos Goytacazes (RJ).
Half of European horse racing venues are in France (with more than 250 current operating hippodromes).
The United Kingdom does not have a country-wide organising body for horseracing.
