Four species of mammals are currently extirpated from the state: gray wolf,[1] cougar,[2] wolverine,[3] and caribou.
[4] The list does not include species found only in captivity.While New Hampshire does not have a state mammal, it does have a state animal (the white-tailed deer)[5] and a state wildcat (the bobcat).
