Steep Point, the most westerly part of the Australian mainland, would be located within the boundaries of the park.
[8] At the time of the last two-yearly Collaborative Australian Protected Areas Database report in 2022, 6,511,458 hectares (16,090,160 acres) of land in Western Australia was covered by national park, which is 8.55 percent of all protected areas in the state.
Overall, just over 30 percent of Western Australia is covered by protected areas.
