A Eurocopter HH-65 Dolphin from the medium endurance cutter USCGC Alex Haley ( United States Coast Guard) rescued the downed Jayhawk's crew and one Selendang Ayu crew member who had been aboard the Jayhawk, but the other six Selendang Ayu crew members aboard the Jayhawk perished in the crash.
