World War II: Convoy SC 44: The Flower-class corvette was torpedoed and damaged in the Atlantic Ocean off Cape Farewell, Greenland (60°07′N 38°37′W / 60.117°N 38.617°W / 60.117; -38.617) by U-74 ( Kriegsmarine) with the loss of eighteen of her 109 crew.
Survivors were rescued by HMCS Agassiz and HMCS Mayflower (both Royal Canadian Navy).
