List of tallest buildings by U.S. state and territory

The following is a list of the tallest buildings by U.S. state and territory, based on standard height measurement.

The tallest building in the U.S. by architectural height is currently Central Park Tower in New York, which is approximately 1,550 feet (470 m)—more than the combined heights of the tallest buildings in Wyoming, Vermont, Maine, South Dakota, Montana, North Dakota, New Hampshire, and West Virginia.

The building heights compared here are calculated from the ground level to the architectural top and include heights of all habitable structures irrespective of number of occupied floors.

However integral spires are included, facilitating One World Trade Center to be considered taller than Willis Tower, even though the highest occupied floor of Willis Tower is higher than that of One World Trade Center.
