Little Voice is the second and major-label debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, which was released on July 3, 2007 on the Epic Records label.
[8] The album was certified gold in February 2008, and platinum in 2011 by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over one million copies.
The song also appears in the TV series Community, and plays during a montage (intended to be humorous) of lingering looks between the characters Annie and Jeff.
When asked in an interview by British newspaper The Daily Mirror about how she would describe her music, Bareilles said, "I guess I would say it's piano-based pop/soul," and said she listened to a lot of early soul and jazz when making the album.
