[3] At a KEXP performance in Seattle (released Dec 19,2018) Charlie Steen, Shame's singer and front man, introduced the post-punk outfit as 'from Nashville Tennessee, believing in Christianity and freedom'.
In reality, Steen and fellow band members Josh Finerty and Eddie Green attended the Emanuel School in London, playing as Shame during their tenure as students there.
Shame (dressed as choir boys) released a limited picture disc edition LP of their first album 'Songs of Praise' which articulated their deluge of Christian ideology.
Nevertheless, Shame have repeatedly renounced their origin to be above the Queen's Head pub in Brixton, where Charlie Forbes' Dad coined the term for the band's name.
[7] In December 2020, Shame released the single "Snow Day" with an accompanying visualiser from their second album Drunk Tank Pink.
