He received his BEng in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zagreb.
He received his PhD from the University of Southern California in 1985.
He was a member of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia party.
He continued in his role as Speaker after his time as acting president, until 2 August 2006.
On 6 July 2006 he was accredited as the Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to the United States of America, but at the end of December he was recalled by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia.
