Dumas has published more than 120 works in eleven languages in books and journals of economics, engineering, sociology, history, public policy, philosophy, military studies and peace science.
He has addressed the United Nations, testified at city, state and federal government hearings, and discussed the policy implications of his work on more than 300 TV and radio programs in the U.S., former Soviet Union, Canada, Europe and the Pacific.

Together with Janine Wedel, he organized and chaired the conference and working group "Building Accountability into International Economic Development Advising" in Pułtusk, Poland (September 21–24, 2003).
