Loona is a village in Saaremaa Parish, Saare County in western Estonia.
[1] Before the administrative reform in 2017, the village was in Kihelkonna Parish.
[2] An estate has existed on this location at least since 1480 and the original building was a fortified manor house.
This so-called "vassal castle" was destroyed at the beginning of the 17th century (Purtse Castle in eastern Estonia is a surviving example of the same type of building).
During the Soviet occupation of Estonia, the building fell into disrepair.
