Lucy Ellmann (born 18 October 1956) is an American-born British novelist based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
[4] Her first book, Sweet Desserts, won the Guardian Fiction Prize.
Her fourth novel, Dot in the Universe, was longlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction and shortlisted for the Believer Book Award.
[5] Her latest book, Ducks, Newburyport was short-listed for the Booker Prize in 2019.
[8][9] Ellmann lectured and led seminars in Creative Writing at the University of Kent between September 2009 and July 2010.
