Luis Miguel Romero Fernández

Luis Miguel Romero Fernández M.Id, (born June 16, 1954) is a Spanish prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who has been serving as an auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of Rockville Centre in New York since 2020.

[2] Romero was ordained to the priesthood in Tenerife, Spain, by Archbishop Paul Karatas for the Indente Missionaries Order on September 11, 1981.

[2] Romero worked for 25 years in Latin America, including a stint from 1996 to 2009 as chancellor and rector-chancellor of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja in San Cayetano Alto, Ecuador.

[3][4] In 2007, Romero was named president of the Organización Universitaria Interamericana (Inter-American Organization for Higher Education).

[5] In December 2019, Romero was named vicar of Hispanic ministry for the Diocese of Rockville Centre in Long Island, New York.
