Lycée Français de Sofia Victor Hugo (LVH; "The French High School Victor Hugo", Bulgarian: Френско Училище "Виктор Юго") is a French international school in the Maxi Complex (Комплекс Макси) in Vitosha, Sofia, Bulgaria.
It follows the French National Curriculum of study and has students from nursery school (maternelle) up to twelfth grade (terminale).
[3] LVH was created in 1966[4] and was called "petite école" because it initially welcomed only children in primary school.
The school is run by an association of parents (APE) who gives power to board members (Conseil d’administration).
Those three years also prepare the students for the French general Baccalaureate examination, the main diploma required to pursue studies in higher education.
For several years now, a 100% of the students have successfully passed the baccalaureate and have been accepted not only in the French higher education institutions (via the Admission Post Bac system) but also in European and Anglo-Saxon universities.
A PRIO (Personne Ressource en Information et Orientation) or guidance counsellor is also in charge of helping them.
Yearly projects are also part of the education, mainly in the fields of languages (e.g. literary rally), cinema and audiovisual media (e.g. Cinesofia Festival[7]), mathematics, sciences, etc.
