M. Tia Johnson

Musetta Tia Johnson (born 1959)[1] is an American lawyer and academic who is a judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.

[3] Johnson began her career in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, where she specialized in international and national security law.

[4][5] During the Obama administration, she served as assistant secretary of the United States Department of Homeland Security for legislative affairs.

[6] On November 17, 2021, President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Johnson to serve as a Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.

President Biden nominated Johnson to the seat vacated by Judge Scott W. Stucky, who assumed senior status on July 31, 2021.
