The daughter of Eda Kriseová [cs], a journalist, and Josef Platz, a director of documentaries, she was born in Prague.
She was educated in Washington, D.C., and England; Platzová received a MA in philosophy from Charles University.
From 2009 to 2012, she lived in New York City; she taught a course on Franz Kafka at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
[1][2] In 2003, she published a collection of short stories Sůl, ovce a kamení ("Salt, Sheep and Stone").
Her plays Na útěku ("On the Run") and Sayang were finalists for the Alfréd Radok Awards.
