Selayang Municipal Council

Selayang Municipal Council (Malay: Majlis Perbandaran Selayang, Jawi: مجليس ڤربندرن سلايڠ) is a local authority which administrates Gombak district and surrounding areas.

MPS is responsible for public health and sanitation, waste removal and management, town planning, environmental protection and building control, social and economic development and general maintenance functions of urban infrastructure.

The MPS main headquarters is located at Bandar Baru Selayang.

Formerly known as Gombak District Council (Majlis Daerah Gombak) from 1 January 1977, this agency was granted municipal status on 1 January 1997.
