Makhad (Urdu: مکھڈ ) is a historical town in Attock District of northern Punjab Province in Pakistan.
[1] It is one of the last towns separating the Punjab from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,[2] and is the place where Soan River falls into the fast-flowing Indus River.
[3] People groups of Makhad include the major Paracha clan which are settled through Gandhara to Attock.
There are also descendants of the Khattak tribe.
