The band consists of members Sefael "Asaf" Mishiyev, guitarist Bahruz "Huss" Efendiyev and drummer Allahverdi "Arif" Gumbetli.
Formed in 2021 in Baku, all members of Mamagama had previous experience in musical ensembles.
[3] In 2022, Mamagama participated in Kënga Magjike, one of the main Albanian music festivals together with Festivali i Këngës, where they won the first prize in the "international artists" section thanks to their single "Dreamer".
Despite being selected among the five final candidates,[4] İctimai Television (İTV) ended up choosing the duo TuralTuranX as its representatives for the contest in Liverpool.
[5] On 4 February 2025, İTV announced that it had internally selected Mamagama to represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.
