Mammoth, Missouri

Mammoth is an unincorporated community in Ozark County, Missouri, United States.

Mammoth is located along Missouri Route T, 5 miles (8.0 km) south-southeast of Gainesville.

[2] The area was known as "Lick Valley' and had a post-office established the 28th of June, 1872.

The postmaster was Joseph C. Miller, a former Union private in the Ozark County Home Guard Regiment Mounted Cavalry, under the leadership of Captain Thomas B. S. Stone, Company A. Lick Valley Post-office was discontinued the 6th of March, 1876.
