Mandela, Rajasthan

Mandela [1]is a town in the Shekhawati region and Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan state in India.

The village lies about 25 km (16 mi) north of Jhunjhunu and is also in close proximity with the town of Pilani.

The literacy rate is about 70% and is increasing rapidly due to rising awareness about education and its importance.The village have now almost 30 school Private and Government.

As the place is located in the semi-desert region of the Thar, the landscape consists of sand dunes with scanty bushes.

The crops grown are mainly pearl millet (Bajra), moong, moth, til and gawar.

Jama Masjid and many mosques, which makes Mandela a religious place where both Hindus and Muslims live together in peace.
