Mangapapa

Mangapapa is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Gisborne.

Whataupoko lies to the southeast and Te Hapara to the south, separated from Mangapapa by the Taruheru River.

[2] Mangapapa covers 3.12 km2 (1.20 sq mi)[1] and had an estimated population of 5,160 as of June 2024,[2] with a population density of 1,654 people per km2.

The percentage of people born overseas was 9.2, compared with 27.1% nationally.

Although some people chose not to answer the census's question about religious affiliation, 53.1% had no religion, 33.6% were Christian, 3.2% had Māori religious beliefs, 0.3% were Hindu, 0.2% were Muslim, 0.4% were Buddhist and 1.6% had other religions.
