Marbach is a municipality in the Wahlkreis (constituency) of Rheintal in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland.
Of the rest of the land, 16.7% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (1.1%) is non-productive (rivers or lakes).
The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Azure, a Bend wavy Argent and in chief sinister a letter M Or.
Of the foreign population, (as of 2000[update]), 36 are from Germany, 34 are from Italy, 129 are from ex-Yugoslavia, 27 are from Austria, 19 are from Turkey, and 45 are from another country.
