Marcão (footballer, born 1996)

Marcos do Nascimento Teixeira (born 5 June 1996), commonly known as Marcão, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for La Liga club Sevilla.

He made his senior debut on 12 April 2014 at the age of 17, starting in a 4–1 Campeonato Catarinense away loss against Chapecoense.

[4] Marcão made his Série A debut on 26 June 2016, coming on as a late substitute for Nikão in a 2–0 home win against Grêmio.

[5] On 14 January 2019, Marcão moved to Turkish side Galatasaray on a three-and-a-half-year contract for an initial fee of €4 million.

He stayed on the field for 90 minutes in all six matches played by Galatasaray football team in the Champions League.

[10] On 8 July 2022, Sevilla announced the signing of Marcão on a five-year contract subject to a medical.

His older brother Dionatan was also a professional footballer before he died of a heart attack at the age of 25.
