Marcy, New York

Marcy is a town in Oneida County, New York, United States.

The Erie Canal passes through the southern part of the town.

During the American Revolution, the settlers, having been warned by a friendly Oneida Indian about an enemy raid, abandoned their farms until after the war.

The Neck Canal of 1730 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

The New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) passes through the southeastern corner of the town.

As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 9,469 people, 2,003 households, and 1,526 families residing in the town.

19.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
