Marinho (footballer, born 1970)

Mário Teixeira da Costa (born 24 November 1970), known as Marinho, is a retired Portuguese footballer who played as a right back.

During a 13-year professional career he amassed Primeira Liga totals of 112 games and two goals in 11 seasons, representing five clubs including Sporting and Benfica.

Born in Singen, West Germany to Portuguese parents, Marinho returned to the land of his ancestors and joined Sporting Clube de Portugal's youth system at the age of 13.

[3] He played his first game for Benfica in a home draw against Salgueiros on 6 September 1995 and went on to make 24 appearances in all competitions, helping them win the 1995–96 Taça de Portugal.
