In 1980, Wokke won the City-Pier-City Loop half marathon in the Hague, when the race had a women category for the first time.
[1] At this occasion she set a new world record time of 1:13:59.
That year, she also finished as first woman and 53th runner overall in the Amsterdam Marathon in a women's course record of 2:40:15.
[2] She was ranked fifth in the world in 1980 with her best ever performance (2:32:28), which she ran in Eugene, Oregon.
[3] She went on to win the inaugural Rotterdam Marathon on 23 May 1981, clocking in at 2:43:23.
