Mark Averill

Mark F. Averill is an American retired Colonel who has served as the acting United States Secretary of the Army since January 2025.

From December 2013 to January 2022, Mr. Averill served as the Deputy Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army and Executive Director of the U.S. Army Resources and Programs Agency in HQDA.

Averill holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the Marine Corps University.
