Mark Jefferson Golding (born 19 July 1965) is a Jamaican politician who has been Opposition Leader of Jamaica and President of the People's National Party since November 2020, following the 2020 general election.
[1] Previously an attorney and investment banker, he was a member of the Senate of Jamaica from 2007 to 2017 and served as Minister of Justice from 2012 to 2016.
His mother was born in England, the daughter of a Jamaican doctor from Westmoreland Parish and his Australian wife.
His father was born in England and moved to Jamaica in 1953 where he became a pioneering orthopaedic surgeon and rehabilitation physician.
In 1993, He co-founded Dehring Bunting & Golding Limited, Jamaica's first private sector investment bank which became one of the leading financial institutions in the Caribbean.
