Markus Mühling (born 27 December 1969, Frankfurt am Main) is a Protestant systematic theologian and philosopher of religion whose work focuses largely on the doctrine of God, eschatology, the atonement and the dialogue between the natural sciences and theology.
From 2011 to 2018 he has been professor for systematic theology and international-interdisciplinary dialogue at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany.
Mühling's approach can be characterized as work towards establishing and widening an ontology of narrative relationality that focuses on constitutive processual relations.
[4] He believes that increased inter- and transdisciplinary engagement is necessary for our understanding of the great questions as well as for the well-being of society.
[7] Prof. Mühling regards recent developments in evolutionary theory (e.g. niche construction), as fruitful resources for modelling theological anthropology.
