Martín Méndez (born 6 April 1978) is a Uruguayan Swedish musician.

[3] Méndez has been a member of several other bands, including Fifth to Infinity, Proxima and Vinterkrig.

[citation needed] He joined Opeth right before the recording of their third album My Arms, Your Hearse (1998) began.

However, time conflicts kept him from playing on the album, so the bass lines were recorded by Mikael Åkerfeldt.

His first real recording with Opeth was their fourth studio album, Still Life (1999).
