Mary O. Boyle

Mary O. Boyle (born December 23, 1941) is an American politician who was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1979 to 1984.

Boyle started her career in elective office as a state legislator representing Cleveland Heights (Ohio District #9) in 1978.

Boyle was a candidate for the United States Senate in 1994, to replace the retiring Howard Metzenbaum, but was defeated in the Democratic primary by Joel Hyatt.

Republican Mike DeWine eventually was elected to the Senate seat in November 1994.

Boyle also ran for Treasurer of State in 2002 against Joseph T. Deters, which she lost.
