She was elected a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing Heathcote for the Labor Party in 2023.
[4] Stuart was educated at St John Bosco College, Engadine and studied Labor Relations and Human Resource Management at TAFE NSW.
[5] She resigned from the position in 2015 after she was endorsed as the Labor Party's candidate for the Heathcote at the 2015 state election[6] at which she was defeated by the then-incumbent, Lee Evans.
[8][9] Following this Stuart commenced work as a lead community organiser for the Australian Conservation Foundation in November 2019.
[5] In 2022, she took a leave of absence from this role to seek preselection for a third time as the Labor candidate for Heathcote at the 2023 election.
