Mason S. Stone

Mason Sereno Stone was born in Waterbury Center, Vermont on December 14, 1857.

[7][8][9] In 1905 he returned to the office of Vermont Education Superintendent, and served until 1916.

[10][11] Stone won election to the Lieutenant Governor's office as a Republican in 1918 and served one term, 1919 to 1921.

[12][13][14][15][16] In 1923 Stone was an unsuccessful candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, losing the Republican primary to Ernest W. Gibson, who went on to win the general election.

[21] Stone also authored several books, including a history of education in Vermont.
