It is the home of the Ohio Renaissance Festival and Caesar Creek State Park.
[4] A large part of the township was submerged in the 1960s and 1970s with the damming of Caesars Creek by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1.

It is composed of sixteen firefighters based at a single station.
