Matt Deggs

He then served as the head coach of the Sam Houston State Bearkats (2015–2019).

Deggs played college baseball at Alvin Community College before transferring to Northwood University and a brief professional career with the Mobile BaySharks and the Tennessee Tomahawks for three years.

He completed his undergraduate degree at Northwestern State and then became head coach at Texarkana.

[4][5][6][7] After 5 seasons at Sam Houston, Deggs was named head coach of the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns’ baseball team on July 17, 2019, following the death of longtime head coach, Tony Robichaux.

Conference tournament champion Deggs is married to the former Kathy Saldua.
