Matt Stapleton

Matthew Stapleton (born 1939) is an Irish former hurler.

Stapleton first played hurling at club level with Borris-Ileigh.

His career coincided with a lean period in terms of success for the club, however, he ended his playing days by winning consecutive North Tipperary SHC medals in 1972 and 1973.

[2][3] At inter-county level, Stapleton first played for Tipperary as a member of the minor team that beat Kilkenny in the 1957 All-Ireland minor final.

Stapleton won a National League–Munster SHC double in 1968 before being a substitute on the team beaten by Wexford in that year's All-Ireland final.
