The township has one property listed on the National Register of Historic Places: the Lake Zumbro Hydroelectric Generating Plant, built 1917–1919.

The racial makeup of the township was 97.98% White, 1.08% African American, 0.27% Asian, and 0.67% from two or more races.
14.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
