McGovern is a census-designated place (CDP) in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States.

[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km2), all of it land.

At the 2000 census there were 2,538 people, 1,059 households, and 762 families living in the CDP.

The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.03% White, 1.58% African American, 0.12% Asian, and 0.28% from two or more races.

[5] Of the 1,059 households 24.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.4% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.0% were non-families.
