McGrew, Nebraska

McGrew is a village in Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska, United States.

McGrew was incorporated as a village in 1911 when the Union Pacific Railroad was extended to that point.

McGrew boomed in the 1920s; at that time, businesses included several stores, a post office, a railway depot and grain elevator, a saloon, an industrial yard, agricultural buildings, and a hotel.

[5] According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.36 square miles (0.93 km2), all land.

27.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

There were 3.6% of families and 9.8% of the population living below the poverty line, including 21.4% of under eighteens and none of those over 64.
