Nurul Amin is a retired government official who is the former Chairman of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission.
[6] He was promoted to the position of Joint Secretary and joined the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Later, he assumed the highest position in field administration as the Divisional Commissioner in the Barisal Division.
During his tenure as Divisional Commissioner, he was promoted to the position of Additional Secretary and took on the responsibility as the Managing Director of the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust in March 2014.
[7] On 22 March 2023, Nurul Amin was appointed chairman of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission in the rank of a judge of Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, responsible for regulating the prices of fuel and electricity, for a three-year term.
