Midhirst is a small village in Taranaki, New Zealand, approximately 4 km north of Stratford, on State Highway 3.

[3][4] Midhirst is defined by Statistics New Zealand as a rural settlement and covers 1.83 km2 (0.71 sq mi)[1] and had an estimated population of 280 as of June 2024,[2] with a population density of 153 people per km2.

It is part of the larger Pembroke statistical area.

Although some people chose not to answer the census's question about religious affiliation, 56.0% had no religion, 32.1% were Christian and 1.2% had other religions.

[6] Midhirst School is a coeducational full primary (years 1-8) school with a roll of 145 students as of November 2024.
