According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 22.5 square miles (58.3 km2), all land.

As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 533 people, 208 households, and 174 families residing in the township.

The racial makeup of the township was 98.31% White, 0.19% Native American, 0.75% Asian, and 0.75% from two or more races.

There were 208 households, out of which 30.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.1% were married couples living together, 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.3% were non-families.

13.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
