Mohamed Kahin Ahmed (Somali: Maxamed Kaahin Axmed) is a Somaliland politician and former military officer of the Somali National Movement Ahmed silaanyo the chairman of (SNM )appointed Mohamed kaahin SNM Commander-in-Chief of the Army, in April 1988.

[3][4] Mohamed Kahin Ahmed was born in Burao, capital of the Togdheer region of Somaliland.

He completed his primary and Quranic education in Beer in southern Togdheer.

[5] He belongs to the Habr Je'lo clan of the wider Isaaq clan-family.
