Mohd Shahar bin Abdullah (Jawi: محمد شاهر بن عبدﷲ; born 6 December 1980[1]) is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Paya Besar since May 2018 and Chairman of the Government Backbenchers Club since March 2024.

He is a member and the Division Chief of Paya Besar of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition.

On 9 March 2020, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Finance II to Muhyiddin cabinet of the PN administration.

[4] In 2018, he contested for the UMNO Youth Chief position but lost to Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

In July 2018, he was appointed as UMNO Youth Communication Chief by Asyraf Wajdi.
