The film stars Adoor Bhasi, Lakshmi, T. R. Omana and Nilambur Balan in the lead roles.

The music was composed by G. Devarajan and the lyrics were written by Sreekumaran Thampi and Jayadevar.

The Times of India wrote, "Thampi lands Indianness to the women's liberation movement by emancipating Mohini through a vicarious realization of her motherhood."
