Moland Township was named for early settlers of Norwegian descent.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 340 people, 124 households, and 91 families residing in the township.
The racial makeup of the township was 99.12% White, 0.59% Asian, and 0.29% from two or more races.
22.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
