Unincorporated communities in the township include West Union, Deer Lick, Time, Nineveh, and Swarts.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.7 square miles (92.5 km2), of which 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2), or 0.05%, are water.
