Cécile Jean-Louis (7 January 1918 – 27 March 2014), better known by her pen name Moune de Rivel, was a French singer-songwriter, musician and actress.
[1] Moune de Rivel was born in Bordeaux to Guadeloupean parents.
Her father is Henri Jean-Louis Baghio'o, French magistrate, and her mother is Fernande de Virel, daughter of the Count of Virel and musician.
[2] She chose Moune de Rivel as stage name by reversing her mother's surname.
[3] Moune de Rivel died in 2014 in Paris[4] and rests at the Montparnasse Cemetery.
